Galveston County Recovery Fund is a pop-up collaborative that activates when a federal disaster is declared in Galveston County. As of June 2024, we have responded to four disasters and learned from each one. We use those lessons to increase our readiness and impact for the impending “next one.”
We do not provide funds to individual people. We marshal resources for disaster response and recovery organizations working in the areas that are most needed for a particular response (like 4-B Disaster Response Network, who was mucking and gutting houses after Hurricane Harvey, or childcare for hospital workers during the outbreak of COVID-19 along with food for people who might have starved without our help).
